So today was my first press day of the season after weeks of enviously reading peoples twitter feeds reporting the wonders of about a million cool finds at various press days. Despite missing the first weeks, Forward PR’s open day was well worth the wait as I was met with a collection of quirky and chic brands at the headquarters of the Academy of Freelance Makeup Artists.
I dont know if it was an antiwar statement (probably just my tendency to always look for deeper meanings since my English lit A level), but Eugene Lin turned something ugly into something beautiful, using real bullets on capes, coats and a killer LBD!
I am continually amazed by the millinery talent that I have been discovering lately. These pieces by Alexandra Harper have made me consider going to Ascot just to wear a hat and also adopting more hat friendly hairstyles- which I rarely have.
I love Alice Palmers knitted 1930’s style party dresses. I love a prohibition party and these frocks would be perfect!
Finally I ended the night with a makeover from an Academy of Freelance Makeup Artists graduate and a glass of champers, so I was well prepared for a glamorous evening spent at… Joe and the Juice. Its opposite so wondering if they had a stream of very made up ladies popping in throughout the day?
As usual my bag got some attention, its like being friends with a celeb. I wore my lovable bag from a Stoke Newington charity shop, H&M top, leggings from the bargain bin at Susie Bubble’s bloggers yard sale, Kirsty Ward necklace and Mulberry postmans lock shoes.
